Abstract

Social economic recovery in the midst of the COVID-19 Pandemic has an impact on human development in East Java. This can be seen from the increase growth in the Human Development Index (HDI) in 2021 compared to other years the previous year. East Java HDI in 2021 is 72.14 or grows 0.60 percent points (an increase of 0.43 points) compared to the previous year's achievement.

The increase in HDI growth in 2021 is influenced by increasing all of its constituent indicators, both the health index, the education index, as well as the adjusted annual per capita expenditure index.

In terms of health, babies born in 2021 have hope to be able to live to the age of 71.38 years, 0.08 years longer compared to them born in the previous year.
