Abstract

Of the eight CPI cities in East Java, all of them experienced inflation. The highest inflation occurred in the City of Surabaya at 0.20 percent and the lowest inflation occurred in Banyuwangi and Sumenep districts of 0.02 percent each.

Inflation occurred due to a fairly high price increase, as indicated by the increase in all indexes of the expenditure group. Of the eleven expenditure groups, all experienced inflation. The expenditure group that experienced the highest inflation was the food and beverage/restaurant supply group at 0.52 percent, followed by the food, beverage and tobacco group at 0.31 percent, the transportation group at 0.22 percent, the equipment, equipment and household routine maintenance group. 0.15 percent, recreation, sports and culture group by 0.10 percent, clothing and footwear group by 0.09 percent, housing, water, electricity, and household fuel groups and health groups each by 0. 07 percent, the personal care and other services group was 0.03 percent, and the education group was 0.02 percent. The group that experienced the lowest inflation was the information, communication, and financial services group at 0.01 percent.

The inflation rate for the calendar year October 2021 is 1.39 percent and the year-on-year inflation rate (October 2021 against October 2020) is 2.13 percent.
