Abstract

Of the eight CPI cities in Jawa Timur, all experienced inflation. The highest inflation occurred in Jember Regency at 0.45 percent and the lowest inflation occurred in Malang City at 0.08 percent.
Inflation occurs due to price increases as indicated by increases in the index of the expenditure group. Of the eleven expenditure groups, five groups experienced inflation, four groups experienced deflation and two groups experienced no change. The expenditure group that experienced the highest inflation was the food, beverage and tobacco group at 0.77 percent, followed by the recreation, sports and culture group at 0.12 percent. There were three other expenditure groups that experienced inflation below 0.1 percent, namely the equipment, equipment and routine household maintenance group at 0.06 percent, the food and beverage / restaurant supply group at 0.03 percent and the clothing and footwear group at 0. , 02 percent. Meanwhile, the four expenditure groups that experienced deflation were the personal care and other services group, namely 0.44 percent, the information, communication and financial services group by 0.27, the transportation group by 0.19 percent and the health group by 0.06 percent.
The inflation rate for the calendar year for March 2021 is 0.65 percent and the year-on-year inflation rate (March 2021 against March 2020) is 1.29 percent.
